Forward-thinking organizations across industries are bringing their automation and robotics vision to life — deploying intelligent, self-driving machines to automate a specific task and drive greater operational efficiencies. Are you wanting to follow suit, but concerned about the technology’s ease of use? Have no fear, BrainOS® is here and delivering simple robot solutions anyone can master. BrainOS® is the leading artificial intelligence (AI) software platform for operating and managing autonomous mobile robots to help retailers, schools, warehouses and more autonomously clean floors and manage inventory through shelf-scanning.

BrainOS® delivers user-friendly robots with an intuitive user experience, a simple approach to training robots and easy-to-use fleet management tools to verify and track robotic performance. Leveraging robots that are simple enough to be operated by anyone on your team, regardless of technical skill level, pay dividends in faster and more widespread adoption, speedier deployments, better and more consistent quality of work, measurable results and improved ROI.

Let’s dive deeper into how BrainOS® delivers simple robot solutions that anyone on your team can learn to use.

Intuitive UI/UX (touchscreen)

The role of user experience (UX) in robotics is to make robots easy to use. And while your associates will likely spend less time with an autonomous mobile robot than they otherwise would with a manually operated machine, they are still the robot’s operator — responsible for teaching routes, running pre-programmed routes and overseeing the robot’s performance. A simple user interface (UI) and intuitive UX significantly streamline training and help teams launch robotics and automation programs more quickly.

Much like a tablet or mobile phone, operators access BrainOS®-powered robot functions via a touchscreen that’s located next to the steering wheel. This touchscreen includes all common functions, such as teaching a route, running a pre-programmed route and viewing training videos. The user interaction with BrainOS®-powered robots is designed to be simple and intuitive, so that anyone, regardless of their comfort level with new technology, can easily learn to operate an autonomous mobile robot and assign it a task.

Approach to Training Robots

Training BrainOS®-powered robots entails having an existing worker first drive the robot through the intended routes. While the routes are trained manually, the robot uses its sensor suite to digitally scan the environment, create a map of the route and commit it to memory. When it’s time for the robot to start its automated task, whether cleaning floors or scanning inventory, the machine operator can simply select from multiple saved routes that now appear on the robot’s interface. The robot follows the saved route map; although, it is constantly taking in real-time inputs and using its artificial intelligence “brain” to safely and efficiently navigate around any obstacle in its path.

The training approach above, called “teach and repeat,” is Brain Corp’s predominant method of robotic route mapping in public spaces because of its flexibility and ease of use. Another teaching method operators can choose from is “Area Fill” — an even faster process where operators simply teach the perimeter of an open space and rely on the robot to calculate how to clean the area inside all on its own.

Both teaching methods make the initial training and deployment of BrainOS®-powered robots fast and easy, allowing employees to use route mapping with no specialized training or custom infrastructure. This teach-and-repeat approach also greatly enhances the flexibility of altering routes. Robots can automatically adjust to avoid an obstacle in real-time and operators can easily adapt routes if necessary.

Fleet Management Tools

Any established robotics software platform should deliver robust performance data and real-time reporting capabilities, including data on robot utilization, performance and efficiency metrics. Brain Corp delivers a suite of fleet management tools, powered by BrainOS® Autonomy Service, to help managers, supervisors and robot operators easily observe and optimize robotic operations at any time and from anywhere, including remotely. These tools include:

    1. Fleet Ops Portal

A cloud-based portal that provides a fleet-level dashboard with drill-down capabilities and a rich reporting module. The portal includes easy-to-navigate, detailed performance and usage analytics for each robot at an individual site or across multiple sites.

    1. Email Reports

Configurable daily usage reports show autonomous usage, operational metrics and heat maps. Weekly roll-up reports provide a clear and concise summary view specifically for managers and supervisors.

    1. BrainOS® Mobile

A mobile application connecting operators and managers directly to their BrainOS®-powered robotic fleets by delivering real-time machine information, performance and notifications. The app also includes a Learning Center with a host of materials to ensure operators can access specific training for utilizing their machines.

Machine Familiarity

Because Brain Corp partners with leading manufacturers, not only do customers get the best of both worlds with best-in-class autonomy and trusted equipment, your teams also get to work with machines they have likely worked with before. BrainOS®-powered robots are typically similar to ride-on machines that most cleaning and operations teams are used to, but with one major difference: they are fitted with sophisticated, AI-driven technology, computer vision and sensors to help the machine operate autonomously. And because existing employees are typically already very familiar with this equipment, organizations see a significantly simplified robotics adoption process.

By partnering with Brain Corp, the industry leader that has deployed more robots than any other company, and our best-in-class manufacturing partners, organizations don’t have to compromise on machine performance or autonomous functionality.

Just because robotics are the most intelligent tools organizations can leverage to create more productive workforces, doesn’t mean they have to be complicated. BrainOS®-powered robots are designed to be easily used by the people operating them every day. In order for a robot to serve its purpose of driving operational efficiencies and supporting existing employees by accomplishing its assigned automated task, it must be user-friendly.

Now that you know anyone can operate a BrainOS®-powered robot to accomplish a specific task, what’s the next step in your automation journey? Contact us today and connect with a solutions expert to identify which of our robotic applications best suits your needs.
