Position Summary:
As a member of the Operations team, the Product Test Engineer, is responsible for validation, verification, acceptance test, and calibration internally, at OEM partners and suppliers in the development and delivery of robotic autonomy products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Testing Responsibilities:
- Ensure product requirements for performance, reliability, and quality
- Participate in development of vehicle acceptance test plans and their execution for use in house and at OEM partners
- Work with OEM partners to stabilize, mature and sustain in-factory Brain product test and calibration processes
- Create and maintain test processes and procedures
- Work with hardware and software engineering teams to create vehicle test and calibration tools
- Perform testing and provide guidance to technicians conducting testing
- Collect, organize, and analyze test data
- Document and report test failures
- Document and report software bugs
- Actively collaborates with other engineering disciplines on design and realization of test and calibration fixtures
- Perform reliability analysis of new and existing tests and equipment
- Write test reports and clearly communicate results/recommendations
- Participate in late-stage development testing, preparation of new robots and autonomy components for demonstrations, OEM rollout, and sustaining test engineering activities
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, and Software
- Engage in the triage process for new issues discovered with deployed software and hardware
- Work with Software Quality Assurance on upcoming software releases
- Provide engineering-level support to OEM partners for both current and new products
Facility and leadership responsibilities:
- Leads by example and positively represents the Operations team in internal and external efforts
- Responsible for product test systems, fixtures, tools; documentation of their use
- Responsible for laboratory ESD control practices and materials
- Identify and request purchase of test equipment and materials
- Technical 'go to' in support of test technicians.
- Implement proper and safe test methodology
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 4+ years experience in an engineering or test role
- Self-starter who can work with limited direct supervision
- Positive contributor attitude and ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Experience with product development, sustaining engineering, and quality control processes
- Hands-on mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of robotics and autonomy systems a plus
- Experience with Linux operating systems and Command Line Interface (CLI)
- Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
- Able to travel domestically and internationally ~15% of time

Salary Range:
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego, California is $91,928 to $118,965. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Brain Corp is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
