Robo-retailers aren’t here quite yet. But they’re coming. The recent announcement from Walmart that it would end its Robot Towers program at 1,500 stores, coming just a few months after it also stopped a test of robotic scanning of store shelves to track inventory levels, would seem to indicate that the retail world isn’t convinced its future lies in silicon life forms.
